More Information about our Pack:
We meet as a pack at least once a month for fun activities for the whole family. Our monthly pack meetings are at the Fitzpatrick Collaborative in Pepperell. Siblings are always welcome to participate in Pack activities. Pepperell Cub Scouts is a family oriented group focused on outdoor adventure, community involvement, and having “fun with a purpose.”
Cub Scout packs are divided into smaller groups called dens. Dens consist of about five to eight boys or five to eight girls and are grouped by rank (generally in the same grade):
- Lions - Kindergarten (or age 6)
- Tigers - First Grade (or age 7)
- Wolves - Second Grade (or age 8)
- Bears - Third Grade (or age 9)
- Webelos - Fourth Grade (or age 10)
- Arrow of Light - Fifth Grade
Our cub scout dens have additional meetings or outings throughout the month. A boy or girl may start cub scouts at any level. They do not have to begin as Lions or Tigers. Scouts move up to the next rank each year regardless of achievement so they always stay with their age group, but if they accomplish all the adventure requirements for their rank, they will receive that rank's patch at the end of the year to wear on their uniform. Our goal is for all scouts to receive their patch at the end of the scouting year.
The 10 purposes of Cub Scouting are:
Character Development, Spiritual Growth, Good Citizenship, Sportsmanship and Fitness, Family Understanding, Respectful Relationships, Personal Achievement, Friendly Service, Fun and Adventure
Why join Scouting?
Ask the scouts and they will tell you it’s a lot of fun... and they’re right! However, while they are having fun a lot of learning and growing occurs. Cub Scouts is a family (not just a kid) program designed to develop character, good citizenship, good sportsmanship, life skills and strong families. Cub Scouts helps children learn to be helpful, to respect other people and to strive to do one’s best.
